Judo Program Coach
(Judo Black Belt, Taekwondo Black Belt)
John began his martial arts journey with Taekwondo, earning his black belt before discovering a deep passion for Judo. After starting Judo in his youth, life commitments including studies, work, and military service led him to take a break. However, his dedication to the sport never faded. After completing his military service, John returned to the tatami and achieved his Nidan (2nd-degree black belt) in Judo in 2005.
Since moving to Canada, John has continued to train and grow in the Judo community, practicing at both Burnaby Judo Club and Westminster Judo Club. His diverse martial arts background and years of experience as a practitioner bring a well-rounded perspective to his coaching.
Now stepping into the role of a Judo coach, John is excited to share the discipline, respect, and values that Judo has instilled in him. He is committed to creating a positive learning environment where students can build confidence, learn proper technique, and enjoy the lifelong benefits of Judo.
John is a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certified Judo Dojo Instructor.
